Jim Hall and the Permian Basin Museum provided much photographic reference for my illustration of the Chapparral 2J. One of the most radical racecars of all time, the so-called "vacuum-cleaner car" that dominated CAN-AM racing in 1970 had a 70-lb. composite chassis built by the owner of a Dick Newick trimaran.

Size of print is 8-1/2 x 11" on heavy dull-coated cover stock. Signed by artist, ready for framing.

This is a 19 x 25" poster for the New American Clipper Ship "Shining Sea" that was to be built at the Donald McKay Shipyard in East Boston by the Shining Sea Foundation.  Featuring the sail plan of Flying Cloud with a hull based on Sea Witch, Sovereign of the Seas, Young America, and Red Jacket, this great American Clipper would have had a length on deck of 226 feet, with a 41 foot beam. The original painting was done for the 1992 Tall Ship Event in Boston. Signed by the artist, Bruce Alderson, A.S.M.A.

This is a 29 x 22" art print on heavy dull-coated cover stock, numbered limited edition, signed by the artist, Bruce Alderson, and the designer, Dick Newick. This unique "Atlantic Proa" finished 3rd overall in the 1968 OSTAR, establishing Dick Newick's reputation as the leading designer of fast and beautiful ocean racing multihulls. My original painting shows Skipper Tom Follett taking a sun sight during a rare break in the clouds, allowing him to set course for the finish line in Newport, RI.
